MDM- Matrix Application Installation (.EAR)

Hello,

I would like to install the Matrix Application EAR file on the WebAS as mentioned in the installation guide. It says "Install the .EAR files on Web AS using the SDM in the SAP NetWeaver Developer". How do I proceed with that? I tried deploying the .EAR with the SDM directly but it resulted in the error. Am I missing something here???

This is kind of important and urgent. please help.

Hi,

Try deploying the .ear files through the

Visual Administrator (\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\admin\go.bat).

Hello Subbu,

I tried deploying the .EAR files in the Visual Admin, I am getting the warning: "This application hasn't J2EE modules, so it cannot be loaded proceeding with deploying", on clicking the only option ok and after doing the overwrite check it still fails, I still see the red cross on that.

Any other ideas?

Hi,

In Visual Admin. Just follow these steps. Lets see if it works.

1. In the Deploy screen , you will have 3 options a.Server , b. Application, c. Container

Under Server option, by selecting server0, under EJB container. Click Deploy& Start , choose MDMMatrixServer_1.0.ear file. U should see the RetailMatrix server running.

Under Application option, click Deploy and Start, choose the other 2 files.

This should run smoothly.

Hi Dharmi,

You didn't say what the error was that you received, but here are the general instructions for installing the Retail Matrix Application:

Firstly, you definitely do not need to install the files via NWDS. You can deploy them using the Remote GUI SDM application, the Visual Administrator, or any other application which allows deployment of archives to the Netweaver Application Server.

The prerequisites for deploying the Matrix application archives is that the MDM4J shared library and connector are already deployed (com.sap.mdm.tech.mdm4j.sda, and com.sap.mdm.tech.connector.sda).

If either one of the above are not already deployed, this might be the reason why the Matrix archive deployment failed.

Hello Walter,

I did deploy the sda's and in the same order mentioned. After that deployed the .EAR for the matrix application. Following is the error that I am receiving:
