Hi Gurus,
we see enque locks in sm12 in SAP Gui only.
what is the ratio what we see the no of locks displayed in SM12 ?
is it 1 transaction code = 1 lock or 1 transaction may have many locks it all depends on the transaction code ?
Please, clarify this at ur earliest.
Regards
vk
locks in Sm12 is a way to restrict the duplicate sequencing based on tables.
As an example.
Now If there is a requirement to create ticket numbers for a 5000 travellers. While creating the 5000 ticket numbers in a system results 5000 entries in the Sm12.Once these numbers
have been created the locks gets released a.
Now During this activity of any other user simultaneously try to create same numbers,System will not allow as these numbers and their sequencing is locked but any range from 5001 onward it will allow.
This all depoends upon the business logic and the cutomiztion .
Hope it will help you.

An enqueue lock is an "object lock", not a "transaction lock". An object can e. g. be a material or an order.
