Interesting Error in External Requirement transfer.

Hello experts,

We are facing a strange scenario.

We are implementing SRM 5.0 with ECC 6.0 as backend.

When the PR are transferred to the SRM system are finding strange results

a) If the delivery date of the PR is in the past the shopping cart is created and the external requirement is available in Sourcing cockpit

b) If the delivery date of the PR is in the past the shopping cart is created however, the sourcing relevent indicator is not set. We can see the shopping cart in BBP_PD. The shopping cart then errors out and RZ20 gives "Error in follow on document".

We have set Always carry out sourcing for * product category.

Have any one of you faced this probelm earlier.

We are facing this is QA, we did not face issue during the development build.

Regards,

Jith.

there was an error.

If the delivery date of the PR is present or in the future, the shopping cart is created, however the sourcing relevent indicator is not set. We can see the shopping cart in BBP_PD. The shopping cart then errors out and RZ20 gives "Error in follow on document".

We have set Always carry out sourcing for * product category.

Hi

You may need to validate this delivery date during tha approval of the shopping card .

Thanks Muthu,

I think there is no approval of shopping cart when it is an external requirement.

Hi Muthu,

This has turned out to be a different issue.

When the PR is transfered the applciation is checking the availability of the material in the backend. If there is stock it is trying to create a reservation in the baceknd and it does not set the sourcing indicator. Since we have not maintained any number range for RS it is erroring out. However if the requested delivery date is in the past the system however send the requirement to sourcing.

We are not getting any clue how we can stop the ssytem from trying to create the reservation.

Any inputs will be of great help.

Hi,

What is your config in the "Define objects in the Backend system" ?

Take this config out completely for this product category.

Once the SC is created in the SRM from your ERP, the this one and the "Define sourcing for Product Categories" decides the follow on document.

If you have a material subject to inventory management in R3 then,

"Reservation if stock is available, otherwise external procurement

The system creates a reservation if the material is subject to inventory management and sufficient stock quantity is available in the warehouse on the requested date."

this becomes active.

Hope you have sourcing defined as always carried out.

Best regards,

Sridhar.

Hi

in SPRO -> Cross application settings -->

Define Objects in Backend system (Purch Reqs, Reservations, Purchase order)

You can control according to your business needs.

Hi Muthu,

I have maintained the following:

Int. Proc.

Always External Procurement

Ext Rprc.

Purchase Order if Item data is complete, else PR.

I guess this is the correct settings. And it should not trigger Reservation at all.
