Hi

Where do we maintain product group.In material master?

The product group which I mean to say is not division

Dear,

We create material master as product group.

Go To MM01 select materail type as PROD and create it.

When you are creating prod group with material type "PROD" then only MRP views will be selected. No other views are required.However first create a product group in MM01 and then go to MC85, then it allows me to edit the Product Group.

You can aslso create with MC84 also.

Hi,

If you are talking about material group then it is available in "Basic Data 1" view. This is generic for the material at client level.

Also there are 5 sales specific material groups which are only used for Sales Transactions and Sales Reports.

These are available in "Sales: Sales org. data 2" view.

For this you have to make these fields as optional in OMS9. These fields are MVKE-MVGR1, MVKE-MVGR2, MVKE-MVGR3, MVKE-MVGR4, MVKE-MVGR5 and field selection group is "54"

And you can create these material groups in path SPRO > Logistics - General > Material Master > Settings for Key Fields > Data Relevant to Sales and Distribution > Define Material Groups

And if you are actually talking about Product Group then create in MC84 which is used in PP module for MRP purpose.

If you mean Material Group, then it is in Basic Data1 itself.

Hi

You mean material group? It is available in material master basic data and sales data. If you want more fields for material group in sales data, then you have to activate that option in the material type your material belong to.
