syndication workflow

Hello;

In automatic syndication we define port at automatic ..so that MDSS will syndicate the file.

But in case of syndication workflow we define port as manual processing so how MDSS will pick up that port for syndication?

can we have automatic syndication in workflow as well? Please clarify

How syndication happens in WFL ?

How syndication happens in Automatic syndication?

Thanks

Ken

Hi Ken,

Even though the Syndicate step when used in the MDM workflow need to keep the processing type as Manual it still uses the syndication server for syndicating.

You can check by stoping the syndication server and tryto syndicate through the WF syndicate step .

It will not allow you to syndicate the fiel.

The reason being the syndicate option in the wf is an automatic step to enable syndication through the workflow instead of manually through the Syndicator Gui

The processing type need to be manual as this synication through teh workflow will get triggered only once the workflow task reaches this step.

So even though the syndication happens automatically without Human intervention it happens at a specified time in the workflow at a trigger at that point.

Hope It Helped,

Thanks & Regards

How syndication happens in Automatic syndication?

In case of Automatic Syndication:

1. Create an Outbound port with processing type as Automatic.

2. Goto,File,Destination properties,Choose the XML schema option.

3. Perform the field to field mapping and save the map

4. Add this map in the port settings which you have in Console.

5. Goto,Syndication Server folder in Server,Open MDSS.ini file & mention the password & username of your repository. Change the time interval also.

9. Resart the server to enable the changes made.

10. Check auto syndication by doing automatic changes.

Also You can find the complete process of Automated Import ansd Syndication in the 2 links mentioned below:

1) Master Data Management Import Server and Master Data Management Syndication Server - Webinar Powerpoint

2) MDM Syndication - This gives you the MDSS config required in the .ini file

The 1st link will give you step by step info about Automatic Import and Syndication process.

IN case of Workflow:

Hi Ken,

In Automatic Syndication Processing Type of a port is selected as Automatic and Syndication Server once started scans all the ports for which Processing Type is set as Automatic and it syndicates the file depending upon the configurations made like map etc.

In case of Workflow if we are using Syndicate Step in Workflow it means we have to syndicate the records based on some condition which depends upon the Workflow's execution property i.e. on Record Add, Record Update or Record Import. Whenever the workflow containing Syndicate step is launched, Syndicate Step MARKS the records for syndication and Workflow Engine tells the Syndication Server to process the Marked records. If it is allowed to specify the Automatic port in Syndicate Step then Syndication Server would have automatically syndicated the records irrespective of Workflow.
