Alert Batch Process Error

I checked the steps for alert troubleshooting and we are on sp 14. Somehow there is a background process that triggers messages every 5 minutes. And in SLG1 - I am seeing alerts raised by batch process for every 5 minutes with error as

BCS exception (DNS_SREQ) occurred.. how do i stop this?? y is it raising alerts every 5 min?? also i dont see the alerts in my inbox

Also in sp12 - how do we schedule SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET?? if we execute this report - does it get automatically scheduled??

Oh..for gods sake..plz some one answer these questions...

Yes I did..but no use...i still dont get any alerts...do we get alerts for system errors??? or we get alerts only for application alerts??
