Partner function determine related questions.

Hi,

Why do we need 'Assign partner function to Account group'???

Since we had done that then why there still need assign the 'partner function determination procdure' to Account group????

Why repetive assignment??

Please explain..

Hi Hoo,

1.When creating a customer account, you must specify an account group. You use the account group to determine:

u2022 the interval for the account numbers

u2022 whether the number is assigned internally by the system or externally by the user (type of number assignment)

u2022 whether it is a one-time account

u2022 which fields are ready for input or must be filled when creating and changing master records (field status)

2.SAP determines relevant partner functions to the objects like Customer Master, Sales Document, Delivery, Billing Document header and Item level by using concept called Partner determination Procedure. As business treats customers, vendors, contact persons and sales employees also as business partners in addition to natural partners like sold to party, Ship to party, Bill to party and Payer. Each and every partner depending upon the partner type performs certain mandatory partner functions while making transaction with business.

To know which type of function he is performing with our business, we have to determine partner procedure, compulsorily..

and we must assign them to the account group which is the responsible unit for the creation of customer master..

Hello,

If you don't assign the partner functions to the account group, then how can you create a partner? As you are aware, while creating a customer/partner, you need to select an account group which will be linked to the partner function.

Eg: For Sold-to-Party, the partner fumction is SP and is assigned to account group 0001. So when you select the accotun group in XD01, system will determine SP as the partner function.

Prase
