Compression rates out of date

During backups of production server I am getting following warning

BR0083W Compression rates out of date - run BRBACKUP with option '-k only'

Please suggest why this problem is coming and how can I solve this.

i used to take online backup through db13

By

running compress database through DB13 solve this problem and if yes

than how much time it will take and why we have to run this process.

Hi,

To remove this message, you have to run "BRBACKUP -k only" from the command prompt or you can schedule it in db13 by adding task "Compress Database".

Normally it need the database to be offline. but can be run while database is online. For that you need to update paramater backup_type = online from backup_type = offline in initSID.sap file.

This process will not take more then the backup time.

I suggest you run this process while there is no user logged on to the server.

After successfull completion of this task you will not find the message in backup process. You have to run this task minimum every 6 month.
