Dear Friends,

I have some doubts in SUM.Moreover, i also go through the SUM document too..Could any one explain with examples in which situation we are going to activate SUM(Storage Unit Management)...

storage unit means the substance on which yor material is kept ....like a pallet is a storage unit on which you may have kept 5 cases of some goods

you make use of this in case the warehouse maintains the goods only on some storage unit like pallet or container

Yes, exactly you are right. But you can store in more than one quant information

Hi Oaris,

1. If you activate SUM, you can keep the stocks in SU's. Per SU how much Qty material you want to kept you can define at MM level. when you are taking GR at the time it will allocate according to palatization data maintained in MM at WM2 tab page.

2. you cannot keep the same characteristics stocks in different dates in one bin. If SU activate you can keep.

So you can follow FIFO more perfect when you activated FIFO.

Storage Unit Management

u2022 Storage unit (SU) management in Warehouse Management (WM) enables you to optimize warehouse capacity and control material flow by utilizing storage units within the warehouse.

u2022 Storage units can be either homogeneous (containing one material item only) or mixed (containing two or more material items).

u2022 storage unit number - All storage units where the materials are stored on standard pallets, wire baskets or other containers, are assigned a unique number. It can be system generated or manually created.
