Hi All,
We´d like to change the hostname of an instance running on a w2k3 + Netweaver04 + SQL2005.
Many thanks for your help if there is a procedure for this.

Hi Yoshimasa,
Thanks for the information!
There are no Java stack running, do recomand the system copy in this case?

Hi
In any case System Copy is the best way
because it is supported by SAP.
As another option you can change the hostname manually.
ABAP is much easier than JAVA.
Folloing SAP note would be helpful
[Note 8307|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/8307] - Changing host name on R/3 host: What do you do?

You can find the information in SAP note 757692.
http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/757692
'Changing the hostname for J2EE Engine 6.40/7.0 installation'
As far as I know changing the hostname for ABAP environment is not so difficult.
- changing file name of SAP profile
- changing host information in SAP profile
But in Java configuration it becomes really complex.
If you plan to change Production system, I recommend to follow supported way: System Copy.
