Hi Experts,

there is a scenario where XI have to start a FILE SENDER comm channel once I received an IDOC.Then, after processing, the File SENDER has to be stopped. I want to know whether it is feasible in BPM to start and stop communication channels.

Thanking you in advance....

Ashvin

Hello Kummari,

Thank you for your response but it is not exactly what I want to know.

In fact, Is it possible to start or stop a communication channel(without user Intervention) in BPM?

again, many thanks!

Sender File adapter works based on the Polling Interval and the Avalability Times configured. Hence you cannot start/stop a sender file adapter from BPM..

please provide more infomation on why you want to start/stop file sender adapter once you receive an IDOC

I have the following scenario:

(1) Initially,IDoc is sent to XI -> A file is created in the FTP

(2) Afterwards,IDoc is triggered through Change pointers and sent to XI

(3)Then, we should check the lines (records) of the file(currently in FTP) for the Material number in the IDoc.

(4)If the material number is already in the file, replace that record.

(5)If the material number is not yet in the file, add a new record.

To implement 3-5, I have thought of the following solution:

Once the IDOC is received by XI, start the FILE SENDER comm channel.

After processing, stop the FILE SENDER comm channel.

I am not sure its the only feasible solution but any suggestion will be highly appreciated!

Ashvin
