We were looking at solution with the registry patch so that the distribution with the installer can be provided to user.

This is for hiding history information for payment card related fieldu2026..The SAP Note 924376 said this is possible by editing registry entries. We am looking for installable with the registry fix that can be distributed globally as a permanent solution for all users.

Is this possible to do?

Thanks

basically we would like to implement a solution where users can download the 710 Gui along with patch level 8, where the registry hack mentioned in the following SAP Note is already configured:

SAP Note Number 924376 - History: disable history for specific fields in

registry

"Exception1", "Exception2", etc. under "Local Data"

SAPGUI path: HKLM(or HKCU)\software\sap\SAPGUI Front\SAP Frontend

Server\LocalData. The values of these registry string values should contain

the dynpro names of the input fields which should have no history. Example:

reg. value "Exception1":"RSYST-BNAME", etc.

we would like this note/fix implemented so that every single user is not required to go into the registry and make the above entries. We want it so that when users download and install the 710 gui/patch 8 the registry hack is already preconfigured, all the user does is install or a script of some sort execute the registry hack.

thanks and regards

Try to create some *.reg file (create all required steps in this file for reg) , after create some *.bat file

and specify the SAPGUI setup command and regedit command like

regedit /s
server\yourreg.reg

In AD specify this *.bat file as "logon script"

is there a way the gui install can be altered to modify the reg per the note?

If you use Installation server, you can create package and include in this script events "On End install" for example..... Try to check , i think it probably ....
