Change pointers for HR master data

Hi I am trying to setup change pointers for HR Master data , in relation to HRMD_A06 idoc , I did all the steps for setting up change pointers.

Transaction bd52 for my reduced IDOC shows 0 entries, When i did the same for customer master data , BD52 had some entries by itself .

I can't produce any HRMD_A06 Idocs , What am i doing wrong? Should the entries in BD52 be added manually for all the fields i need?

Any help is much appriciated.

Hi,

guess it's not necessary to see some entries in bd52 (it's enough to activate in bd53).

Do you have configured RBDMIDOC (otherwise no IDocs will get generated).

Or you run t-code bd21 for testing. Standard way is to run the report RBDMIDOC in a periodic background job.

Hi Patrick

Yes I have created a job which runs every 5 mins (RBDMIDOC) with my reduced message type as variant. The job is running fine. I don't think change documents are being written when i change something in Personal data of a HR record . How can i check this ?

HI,

First active change pointer through BD61, after that add change pointer to your message type through BD50.

After that execute RBDMIDOC your transaction it will work

well I did all the steps for seting up change pointers, but i can't see any idocs created when i execute bd21. I think maybe i am not changing the required data to trigger change pointers , Does anybody know of some data which will for sure trigger change pointers for HR master data ?

Hello Sudheer,

You need to check WE05 or WE02 for triggred IDoc's.Have you maintained ALE correctly?

Test data depends upon the fields that you have selected in BD52, so please cross check, fileds you have slected and try to change them.

I have already setup change pointes for customer master data , and i have done the same steps for HR master data as well. All ALE configuration is correct. There are no fields in BD52 for my reduced message type. Some answers in this forum said that it is not always required to have fields in BD52. So where am i going wrong

Hi Everybody

After scratching my head for 2 days , I think i know why Idocs are not being created , I noticed that the data element of all the fields i am try to change are not flaged with change document flag. I observed this for other working change pointers ( MATMAS, DEBMAS) the change document flag for the corresponding data element is enabled. Now my question is is there a way where we can mass enable these data elements for change documents be written?

I head of Transaction SCDO a little bit , but don't know about it . Any experts who can guide me in achieveing this please ?
