Hi,

1. Is it possible to model data in a hierarchy?

eg.

Comp Code

Process

Account (Flag)

Item

2. Is it possible to add an indicator(flag, icon) on level 3 of the hierarchy, if it is dependant on a condition on level 4. By this I mean that it there exists a document on level 4, then an indicator needs to be displayed on level 3.

3. Is it possible to maintain documents or to write to have a free text field that can be written to?

Thanks for the help!!!!

Werner

Hi Werner,

Your questions are general and so I'm not sure exactly what you mean. For example, yes, it is possible to model hierarchical data in VC- in Ehp1 you can define clustered data sets using the Define Data dialog by adding nodes in the tree view.

And yes, it's possible to use a value from the 4th level to determine visibility conditions of something in the 3rd. However, if the 4th level is a nested table, then the value of the selected row in the 4th level will be used.

I'm not sure what you mean in your third question, though.

I hope these answers help.

Eyal
