hi,

ORA-32004: obsolete and/or deprecated parameter(s) specified

I am not sure but you check for One or more obsolete and/or parameters were specified in the SPFILE or the PFILE on the server side. See alert log for a list of parameters that are obsolete. or deprecated. Remove them from the SPFILE or the server side PFILE.

May be this is helpful for you

Karan Singh,

I am also sure that the error occurs because of Obsolete parameters specified.

I checked the Below SAP Note : 609430 - Error messages due to obsolete parameters

Solution

Delete all obsolete parameters specified in the ORA-25138-message or in the alert log from the Oracle profile.

Can you please tell me where can I find the SPFILE or the PFILE on the server side.

And let me know how to find the Obsolete parameters?

Please tell me where to check Alert Logs?

Appreciate your reply.

Regards,

Karthick

Hi,

Take a look at the alert log.

AFAIK, the ORA-32004 is also recorded there and you can see what parameters are not properly set.

O_o

It does not matter if it is JAVA stack or ABAP stack.

Oracle always generate an alert log. Any person trying to do anything with an oracle database should know that and you are trying to use BRTOOLS to do a backup !

By default, on a SAP system the alert log is located on the background directory

> /oracle/<SID>/saptrace/background.

Now I have another questions

1) as which user were you connected when you tried to do the backup?

2) what are the environment variables of that user?

3) what are the SAPSID and DBSID?

4) when you replied karan Singh, were you connected to the correct oracle system?

5) how do you start your database?

6) when you start your database, do you get any error?
