ECC 5.0 to 6.0 upgrade - language DVD mount issue.

Hello Folks,

We are upgrading from ECC 5.0 to 6.0. We have a bunch of languages installed in the system. In the Prepare phase during the LANG_SELECT the Prepare gives the follwoing error message and is stuck.

The following language(s) could not be updated yet:

- German for component EA-APPL

- German for component EA-DFPS

- German for component EA-FINSERV

- German for component EA-GLTRADE

- German for component EA-HR

- German for component EA-IPPE

- German for component EA-PS

- German for component EA-RETAIL

- German for component ECC-DIMP

- German for component ERECRUIT

- German for component FI-CA

- German for component FI-CAX

- German for component FINBASIS

- German for component INSURANCE

- German for component IS-CWM

- German for component IS-H

- German for component IS-M

- German for component IS-OIL

- German for component IS-PS-CA

- German for component IS-UT

- German for component LSOFE

- German for component PI_BASIS

- German for component SAP_ABA

- German for component SAP_AP

- German for component SAP_APPL

- German for component SAP_BASIS

- German for component SAP_BW

- German for component SAP_HR

Similarly for English and French.

Please mount another Language Disk for these language(s).

You need at least CDs which satisfy the vector "DE"

(standard languages) for all components.

It is not allowed to omit this update.

Does anyone have encountered this issue If so what was the resolution?

Thanks.

We already tried using another set of DVD's, also tried downloading CD's from SAP marketplace.

Also message is opened with SAP.

We tried below options.

1. Used latest SAPup delivered by SAP on 11th August.

2. Latest upgrade correction file delivered on 11th August.

3. Copied LANG DVD's in binary mode (previously also they copied in binary mode as Exceed copy in binary mode by default, but this time specifilly selected this option).

4. Copied above DVD's to local drive, previously we were using NFS mount.

from above combinition, something is worked and our problem is resolved.

This most likely was your issue, as it is not recommended to use NFS mounts for install/upgrade media, only local drives.

Were you upgrading to SR2 or SR3. I am having the very same issue as you, and have followed all you steps, but I still have the error:

We tried to our present 640 kernel to level 221, /usr/sap/put/exe kernel files (R3trans, tp, R3laod,etc) to latest available. Tried shortened mount point paths, also giving LANG1 to LANG6 as seperate mount points. Still PREPARE is giving same error.

May be downloaded files are not correct(corrupted) ? Try to open OSS message to SAP. Regards.

We mounted DVD's similarly, LABEL.ASC, CDLABEL.ASC are ok. As per SAP we are using correct DVD's, but still unable to understand error.

Are you use good disk with PREPARE ? Also the language DVD number are ?

p.s. your question are "Absolutely identically" with same question from 2007 year , are this question
