Unable to Create EWA

Hi Experts

I am unable to create a ewa report. when i click on setup ewa alert i am getting a error message

The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://shresmgr.shreya.co.in:8000/sap/public/myssocntl?

The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for shresmgr.shreya.co.in

The dnsserver returned:

Name Error: The domain name does not exist.

This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.

Check if the address is correct.

Your cache administrator is root.

Check if you are behind proxy server.

Make byepass proxy settings in your browser (IE).

This will solve your problem.

Hi,

From the system you are receiving this error can you "ping shresmgr.shreya.co.in" successfully ? Also, I suggest if this system is local that you exclude it from your proxy which can be done in your web browser.

Hi Venkat,

In your instance profile setup the following parameter:

icm/host_name_full    shresmgr.shreya.co.in

Naturally that fully qualified host name should also be in DNS and resolve.
