Dear Expert,

We will migrate our SAP system; SAP version 4.7, oracle 9, and Operating system Solaris; to new server; SAP version 4.7, Oracle 10, and operating system HP-UX.

Do you have any documentations for this, and any checklist to ensure there's no risk after migration.

Thank you....

Regards,

MAL

Hi,

you can start reading the following link: http://service.sap.com/osdbmigration

In any case, keep in mind that the os/db migration of productive system have to be performed by a person certified on os/db migration and you have to use the SAP service on os/db migration.

Moreover you can find more informations on the following SDN forum :

Expert Forums » Application Server » AS Migration

Best regards

Stefano

There is no short cut of OSDB migration and specially in your case OS migration.

You should check the OSDB documentation at oss as suggested by stefen.

However please refer This note 936441

This note will take you to further notes and would give you some good idea.

Basic work

Inform SAP about the migration plans.Open an Oss message.

Schedule some pre migration and post migration checks for your source and target system.

Please do the complete cleanup of your source systems in terms failed updates/qcm tables/failed and cancelled jobs etc.

Dont forget to run the update statistics before starting the export from source system.

Stop all the background jobs btctrans1

prepare your target system with all the require patches for oracle /sap/cpu patches/kernel settings.

If your DB is very large then get some idea of IMIG technique.

Get some good os level space for exported data.

and many more.Try to get some feel by reading the documents.

Get back to forum if you require some further information.

Good luck.

Thanks

Amit
