Greetings,
Iam working on a xi scenario where i created a name space by adding the corresponding namespace name to a soft ware component version followed by saving it . when i try to activate the data type in the name space it throws an error "Namespace http://$$$$ is not defined in the software component version TESTSCENARIO , 1.0 of xxxx"
will you please let me know if my procedure is correct ?
thanks
Hi priya,
you have to activate the Exchange fault data and Exchange Lod data along with the software component version in the change list.

hi
Exchange log data and exchange fault data are created in the change list when ever the namespace is created.

Hi,
Before activating any of the objects created for the Namespace first activate the SWCV and the Datatype ExchangeFaultData and ExchangeLogData. Then activate the objects created for that namespace.
Thanks

Just after creating the namespace, before creating any object, first u have to activate the namespace with Datatype ExchangeFaultData and ExchangeLogData.

HI,
I did as u said .. but still the problem persists..
Namespace http://eee is not defined in the software component version TESTSCENARIOS , 1.0 of xxxx Check result for Data Type ExchangeLogData | http://eee:
by the way can you explain what are these ExchangeFaultData & ExchangeLogData and what is the logic of activating them at first ?
If there r multiple inactive namespaces, then it may happen that u r activating the above mentioned Datatypes from some other namespace. So check that too. Also make sure u haven't deleted these datatypes.
These datatypes are provided by defaul for fault handling e.g. with proxies.

Hi Priya,
I think in the change list that you are activating - there you need to select activate all the three at the same time:
ExchangeFaultData
ExchangeLogData
AND the SWCV in which you added the namespace. Try activating all three at once and see if it works.
I think while activating you are not selecting the SWCV in the activation list.
