You can use the HTTP sender synchronously. But the acknowledgment depends upon the receiver system. As you have said the scenario is Async ...so here you may need to go for dummy response with the help of either BPM.

It depends upon ur complete scenario. What is the receiver system in ur case. Usually the sync systems uses response message instead of trying to configure ack.
