deletion of catalog codes in plant maintenance

Dear Experts,

I am using catalogs for causes, damage & object parts.I have used code groups and codes in my applications.now i want to delete some of used code groups as well as codes. but system says the codes which been used cannot be deleted. but in IMG setting there is one check box in defining of catalog codes called deactivation which tells that codes which marked as inactive can be deleted by checking that box. but i dont know how to inactive those codes. i didnt get any options/settings for the same.Please help me to come out of this problem.

Hello Praveen,

usually codes and catalogs are not deleted to ensure that these are found i.e. when displaying a notification which used this combination. Due to this fact the deleted codes and catalogs are only logically deleted (They are marked with a flag, and are thus not displayed).

hi..

Thanks a lot for your response....I solved my problem by putting deletion flag to the code group as u said...so that while creation of notification it will not be avaiable for the end user in the drop down list.The end user requirement is fulfilled.
